Barry Gibb, the last surviving member of the Bee Gees, has released a rendition of their hit song “Words” featuring Dolly Parton.
Parton takes the lead on the vocals for the classic love song, with Gibb providing backing vocals and harmonizing with her on the chorus. The moving duet was recorded at the first recording sessions for Gibb’s upcoming album Greenfields: The Gibb Brothers Songbook, Vol 1.
The record, which is out this Friday, comprises 14 re-recordings of Bee Gees classics penned by the Gibb brothers: Barry, Robin and Maurice. Many country artists have been tapped for the album, including Parton, Miranda Lambert, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile, Little Big Town and more. It was recorded in RCA Studios in Nashville and produced by in-demand Nashville producer Dave Cobb.
