HC McEntire covers Tammy Wynette’s “’Til I Get it Right”

Ahead of the premiere of her ‘Eno Axis’ concert film.

HC McEntire has shared a cover of Tammy Wynette’s “’Til I Get it Right” and news of a new concert film set for release next week.

McEntire’s dreamy version of the 1972 track was recorded in Kernersville, North Carolina, during the same sessions for her album Eno Axis. “Some songs pull at you like a magnet, like your soul needing to stand in its words + ride its melody,” she wrote on Twitter. “‘’Til I Get it Right’ by Tammy Wynette does it for me.”

“’Til I Get it Right” also closely follows McEntire’s cover of “Georgia Rain” by Trisha Yearwood. Angel Olsen and Amy Ray helped bring the latter cover to fruition for Merge Records’ Going to Georgia compilation album. All proceeds from that LP will benefit the organisations Fair Fight and Mijente in support of the fight against systemic racism.
