Gabby Barrett has released a cover of Dolly Parton’s 1974 classic “I Will Always Love You.”

The American Idol alum delivers powerhouse vocals on the emotional rendition, which largely stays true to the original. Barrett recorded the song at home, aided by producer Ross Copperman. The song also features her husband and fellow Idol alum Cade Foehner on guitar.

“The thing about this song and about all of Dolly’s catalog is that her music is timeless; it comes straight from her heart,” Barrett said in a press statement. “You can tell that she’s being honest and sincere in every lyric she writes. Every story is genuine to her life. Something I strive for, that she has set such a perfect example of in country music. I am honored to have covered this song, and I hope you all love it as much as I do.”

Alongside the release of her “I Will Always Love You” cover, Barrett also had the opportunity to interview Dolly Parton herself for Amazon Music. During the 18-minute-long session, the duo talk about everything from their upbringings to songwriting inspirations.
