Dolly Parton shares message of hope on “When Life is Good Again”

A much-needed pick-me-up from Dolly.

Dolly Parton has dropped a surprise new song, “When Life is Good Again.”

On the timely, uplifting tune, Parton shares her hopes for a future when the coronavirus pandemic is over. She also sings about how she’s striving to better herself in this time.

“Let’s open up our hearts and let the whole world in / Let’s try to make amends / When life is good again / I’ll open up my doors again and hear the message in the wind / Repent of all my sins (Hallelujah) / When life is good again,” she sings on the chorus.

The song dropped alongside a music video, which includes heartwarming footage of human interaction (pre-isolation) as well as clips of healthcare professionals and delivery workers. The video wraps with concluding words and instructions from Parton: “Be safe, be respectful, wear your mask, lead with love.”

Last month, the country legend donated a million dollars to Nashville’s Vanderbilt University Medical Center to further aid their ongoing coronavirus research. “I am making a donation of $1 million to Vanderbilt towards that research and to encourage people that can afford it to make donations,” she shared on Twitter.
