Dolly Parton, Miranda Lambert team up for “Dumb Blonde”

It’s a new take on a Dolly classic.

It’s been more than four decades since Dolly Parton released her song “Dumb Blonde,” a classic country ditty that proves blondes have been having more fun since the ’60s. Fast forward to today and the track’s been given a new life: The country icon has recruited fellow blondie Miranda Lambert on the single’s re-release.

Part of the film soundtrack for Netflix’s Dumplin’, the song finds Parton and Lambert getting in touch with their honky-tonk side. It’s got an old-timey country vibe that’ll instantly put anyone in a good mood. “Don’t try to make me feel sorry for you / Just because I’m blonde / Don’t think I’m dumb / ’Cause this dumb blonde ain’t nobody’s fool,” the pair sing on the chorus, their harmonies a match made in heaven.

“Dumb Blonde” was written by Curly Putman and appeared on Parton’s debut album, Hello, I’m Dolly. Take a listen to the new version below:
