Dan + Shay are celebrating all the special people in their lives with new single “Glad You Exist.”
As expected from the duo, “Glad You Exist” marries catchy melodies with crisp acoustic balladry. The country pop bop is not only dedicated to Dan + Shay’s immediate family and friends, but also to the fans that the pair can’t reach until the pandemic travel bans are lifted and touring returns.
“To us, ‘Glad You Exist’ is more than just a song,” the duo imparted in a statement. “It’s a message of gratitude and hope. A message to everyone in our lives: our fans, our friends, our families, to remind them all how grateful we are to be on the planet at the same time… This song has taken on a new meaning not being able to see our loved ones in person, but throughout history, music has always had a special way of bringing people together, even when we are furthest apart.”
Dan + Shay’s last record was their 2018 self-titled album. Since then, they collaborated with Justin Bieber on the smash hit “10,000 Hours” (which got a piano rework, dubbed a “wedding version” by Bieber) and dropped the emotional track “I Should Probably Go to Bed.”
Dan + Shay were also recently added to fellow country star Blake Shelton’s team of ‘Battle Advisors’ on the US version of The Voice, which is celebrating its 20th season this year.
