Country trap prince Lil Nas X releases ‘7 EP’

Can he do better than “Old Town Road”?

Since the viral success of “Old Town Road,” Lil Nas X has become the latest artist to be slapped with the ‘one hit wonder’ label. With his newly released 7 EP, country trap’s crown prince aims to prove he’s got more than one song in him.

The eight-track project kicks off—naturally—with Billy Ray Cyrus’ remix of “Old Town Road,” before transiting into new single “Panini,” which notably interpolates “In Bloom” by Nirvana on its chorus. It appears that Lil Nas X got permission from Frances Bean Cobain—the late Kurt Cobain’s daughter—for the sample:

Besides Cyrus, the only other guests on the release are Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker on “F9mily (You & Me)” and Cardi B on “Rodeo.”
