Cody Jinks shares new song, “Must Be the Whiskey”

It’s a good ol’ country bop.

Cody Jinks’ new album, Lifers, is due to arrive on July 27, and he’s just released the first track off the record to give listeners a taste of what’s to come.

“Must Be the Whiskey” is a moody, yet upbeat, Americana tune that describes a lovelorn Jinks who’s conflicted about his troubled relationship with his lady love. He questions himself on the track: Did she ever love him? Or maybe it was all those bottles of bourbon he’s been having.

“I’ve been drinkin’ to remember and drinkin’ to forget / I got ‘I love you’ on my mind, I got Jim Beam on my breath,” the country singer belts out on the catchy chorus.

Lifers will be Jinks’ debut album under Rounder Records label. The Texan artist had previously released his works independently.
