Cassadee Pope shares “If My Heart Had a Heart”

Off her upcoming LP, ‘Stages.’

Cassadee Pope is giving fans another taste of her upcoming LP, Stages, with the melancholic country rock ballad, “If My Heart Had a Heart.”

The somber track offers a fresh change of pace for the country singer, whose previous two releases were upbeat country pop ditties. “If My Heart Had a Heart,” which features soaring vocals and anthemic drums, give the former Hey Monday frontwoman a chance to return to her rockier roots. “If my heart had a heart it would go on and leave me alone / It’d stop having a mind of its own / let me forget you and let me let go,” she sings on the chorus.

Pope previously put out the songs “One More Red Light” and “Take You Home” from the soon-to-be-released full-length.
