Carrie Underwood performs “Islands in the Stream” with Jimmy Fallon

It’s an unlikely pairing.

Now here’s a cover that’s come out of left field: a rendition of “Islands in the Stream” by Carrie Underwood and Jimmy Fallon.

The country star had stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon—which, for that episode, was filmed in New York City’s Central Park—to promote her new album Cry Pretty, which is already one of the top-selling albums of the year.

Underwood performed her empowering single “Love Wins,” but also joined the show’s host for an impromptu performance of the Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers classic.

The karaoke-style duet saw the pair swapping banter between verses and laughing as they struggled to find the song’s key. It’s not a bad take on the track by any means, though—especially considering the TV host isn’t known for his vocals.

Underwood, on the other hand, was incredible as usual. Parton would be proud.
