Carrie Underwood and Kelsea Ballerini teamed up for a duet of Trisha Yearwood’s 1992 hit “Walkaway Joe” on a recent appearance on the illustrious Grand Ole Opry radio show.
The duo performed a faithful rendition of the piano-led ballad, just after Ballerini was inducted into the Opry family. Underwood reined in her usually powerful vocals for a gentler delivery, giving the Tennessee native her moment to shine. The pair then came together for buttery harmonies during the final chorus, before ending the song with a tight hug.
Underwood previously released her sixth studio album, Cry Pretty last September. On the other hand, Ballerini released a cover of Shawn Mendes’ “Lost in Japan” for Spotify Singles in January.
