Carrie Underwood’s highly anticipated album, Cry Pretty, is well on its way. After dropping the chart-topping title track, the country queen is back with a new single, “Love Wins.”

It’s a powerful track with an important message at its core: No matter how bad things, love will always come out on top.

“Politics and prejudice / How the hell it’d ever come to this? / When everybody’s gotta pick a side / It don’t matter if you’re wrong or right,” Underwood wonders on the song’s opening verse, setting the tone for the rest of the track. It doesn’t take long before the singer breaks into a battle cry: “I believe in the end love wins.”

Co-written by Underwood with the help of Brett James, the inspirational anthem focuses on the good in everybody. “I do think that we as humans are inherently good and we need to remember that,” she told country radio. “We wanted the song to be hopeful and to maybe make somebody stop and think about that.”
