Carly Pearce just wants to get “Closer to You” in new MV

It’s the first taste of her upcoming sophomore album.

Carly Pearce has released a vibrant video for her latest single, “Closer to You.”

In the clip for the country pop love song, Pearce drives throughout the night in search of her lover. “I got a fast car, gassed up, sittin’ in the driveway / Got a road that I know like the back of my hand / We could head out right now, baby, we could fly away / And disappear outta here fast as we can,” she sings. She eventually reunites with her lover, who’s played by fellow country singer and her real-life fiancé, Michael Ray.

When Pearce first heard “Closer to You,” which was penned by songwriter Hillary Lindsay, it was love at first listen, she told Sounds Like Nashville back in November. “I’ve always been an artist that was very honest that the best song wins. I could get behind every single lyric in this song and it was definitely what I wanted to capture.”

“Closer to You” is the lead single from Pearce’s as-yet-untitled sophomore album, due out this year. Watch her new video below:
