Brooks & Dunn, Brett Young retool “Ain’t Nothing ’Bout You”

The country hit gets an R&B spin.

Legendary duo Brooks & Dunn have teamed up with contemporary country artist Brett Young on a rework of the former’s 2001 hit, “Ain’t Nothing ’Bout You.”

The fresh rendition tones down the twangy guitar riffs and banjo chords, replacing them with bass-driven beats and groovy horns. Young opens the track with his soulful voice, setting the tone for the R&B-influenced remix. “The way she looks, the way she laughs / The way she loves with all she has / There ain’t nothing ’bout her / That don’t do something for me,” the trio sing.

Ronnie Runn gave producer Dann Huff props for the song’s fresh direction. “He locked into this funky groove on the guitar with a killer light R&B vibe, and it’s perfect for Brett’s voice,” he told Sounds Like Nashville.
