Brandy Clark releases new album, ‘Your Life is a Record’

This album of life stories is Clark’s first full release in four years.

Country singer-songwriter Brandy Clark is back with her third studio album, Your Life is a Record.

Teaming up with famed producer Jay Joyce, Clark’s new full-length release opens the record with the reflective “I’ll Be The Sad Song,” and tells stories of heartbreak on tracks like “Apologies,” “Who You Thought I Was” and “The Past is the Past.” While ballads run the game on this LP, Clark’s duet with pop-rock legend Randy Newman on “Bigger Boat” offers a tongue-in-cheek take on a constantly bickering couple, and the jazz-influenced “Who Broke Whose Heart” shows off the 44-year-old’s sassy side.

“To me, this album is about endings and beginnings. Sometimes you have to have endings to have those beautiful beginnings. I hope you find yourselves in me finding myself,” Clark shared on Facebook.

The six-time Grammy nominee is also a known songwriter in the Nashville music community, having penned tunes for country music’s superstars including Reba McEntire, Darius Rucker, Miranda Lambert and Kacey Musgraves.

With this third project, one thing’s for certain: Clark isn’t afraid of being vulnerable at all. Listen to Your Life is a Record below:
