Brandi Carlile, Tenille Townes duet on “Fulton County Jane Doe”

A cut from Carlile’s Grammy-winning album, ‘By the Way, I Forgive You.’

Grammy-winner Brandi Carlile and country up-and-comer Tenille Townes have teamed up for a moving performance of “Fulton County Jane Doe,” a cut from the former’s By the Way, I Forgive You LP.

Carlile takes the lead on this rendition, as the pair perform the song in a cozy studio while playing guitars. The duo come together during the chorus, delivering gorgeous harmonies over the stripped-down instrumentals. “God, the whole world’s gone crazy / And there’s only God to blame / Somebody called you something sweet once / It was more than Fulton County Jane,” they sing.

The duet was recorded as part of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store’s Five Decades, One Voice initiative, which seeks to spotlight women in country music. Watch Carlile and Townes’ performance of “Fulton County Jane Doe” here:
