Ashley McBryde brings “Girl Going Nowhere” to ‘CBS This Morning’

The breakout country star also performed two other tracks and discussed her Grammy nom.

Over the weekend, Ashley McBryde hit up CBS This Morning to perform three songs off her recently Grammy-nominated debut album, Girl Going Nowhere.

Accompanied by her band, the rising country singer started things slow with a moving performance of the title track, before kicking it up a notch with the lively “El Dorado.” McBryde then wrapped up her set with the fan favorite “American Scandal,” delivering confident, pitch-perfect vocals while her guitarist dived into a rollicking solo.

During the interview segment, the singer discussed her reaction to her Grammy nomination for Best Country Album. “I was like, ‘What?’” the 35-year-old singer-songwriter exclaimed. “I got so overwhelmed. There was so much love coming at me at one time.”
